Cuando se comprende lo que ocurre en estas etapas -especialmente en el sueño profundo- se entiende por qué pasamos casi un tercio de nuestras vidas durmiendo.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fase 1 (NREM N1): Deriva</strong><br>Duración: 1-7 minutos<br>Es el momento en que el cuerpo pasa de la vigilia al sueño. Es increíblemente ligero: un ruido o un ligero movimiento pueden despertarte fácilmente. Considéralo la puerta de entrada al resto del ciclo del sueño.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fase 2 (NREM N2): Sueño ligero y estabilizador</strong><br>Duración: 10-25 minutos<br>El ritmo cardíaco disminuye, la temperatura corporal baja y las ondas cerebrales empiezan a reducirse. Esto sigue considerándose sueño ligero, pero prepara al cuerpo para las fases más profundas y reparadoras que le siguen.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fase 3 (NREM N3): Sueño profundo / Sueño lento</strong><br>Duración: 20-40 minutos<br>Esta es la etapa que tu cuerpo más necesita. El sueño profundo es cuando se produce la magia:<br>Reparación tisular y recuperación muscular<br>Refuerzo del sistema inmunitario<br>Liberación de la hormona del crecimiento<br>Consolidación de la memoria<br>Restablecimiento emocional y cognitivo<br>Despertar a alguien de un sueño profundo es difícil, y si se despierta, suele sentirse aturdido o desorientado.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fase 4 (Sueño REM): Soñar y reiniciar el cerebro</strong><br>Duración: 10-60 minutos<br>Los ojos se mueven rápidamente, el cerebro se vuelve más activo y es aquí donde se producen los sueños vívidos. El sueño REM favorece la creatividad, el procesamiento emocional, el aprendizaje y la salud cerebral. Aunque el cuerpo está relajado, la mente está muy activa, como cuando se está despierto.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A medida que envejecemos, el sueño profundo disminuye de forma natural. Se trata de un <strong>cambio biológico normal</strong>, no es un signo de mal sueño o un problema de salud.</p>
